Practical nursing programs are packed with coursework, clinical placements, and registration exam preparation. All that may make the idea of joining a professional association seem like something to deal with later, after graduation. But WeRPN’s student membership is built for this stage, and it’s free for practical nursing students who have not yet registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

As a student member, you join a community of RPNs and practical nursing students from across Ontario. Many member resources are tailored to the years around graduation. Student members can benefit from resources to help prepare for the REx-PN exam and supports like the New Grad Toolkit, a five-module program covering professional accountability, mentorship, workplace communication, and managing self-care and burnout. As you begin looking for work, as a member you have access to one-on-one career coaching, mentorship, guidance on resumés and interviews, and a job board listing RPN positions across the province.
“Nursing school moves fast, and WeRPN was my bridge between the classroom and clinical reality,” says Alannah, a new grad. “Their student tools gave me the confidence I needed for my placements and my first job.”
There are everyday benefits as well. Members save on scrubs, stethoscopes, fitness memberships, and other purchases, and eligible students can apply for bursaries and scholarships to help with the cost of school.
